The Iderm Treatment is all about subtraction; removing impurities, extracting blemish-causing bacteria, and infusing the skin with healthy, water-soluble solutions of vitamins and minerals.
This is not a typical “spa facial” where the focus is on pampering, massaging creams into the skin, etc. This is like physical therapy for your skin and provides real, long lasting results.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
A BRIEF HISTORY
The Iderm Facial treatment was invented in 1937 by a German scientist and chemist named Dr. Paul Meminger. Combining his knowledge of both medicine and science, Dr. Meminger developed a skin treatment system that offered dramatic results to problem skin. The central feature of Dr. Meminger's technology was the application of electrical currents to treat the skin. He used this electrical current (commonly known as a galvanic current) to introduce vitamin rich solutions into the skin.
Dr. Meminger soon discovered that this combination of electrical current and vitamin rich solutions brought dramatic physical changes to the skin. Such changes he found helped to cleanse, hydrate and rejuvenate dermal tissue. Following Dr. Meminger's discovery, a galvanic treatment machine was designed and developed, now known as the Iderm® Deep Skin Ionization Process.
Today, this process is known in the medical field as iontophoresis. Iontophoresis and galvanic techniques are widely used today in the skin care industry and are taught in many schools of cosmetology and aesthetics.
WHAT RESULTS CAN YOU EXPECT?
The Iderm Treatment is skin detox at its best: You will notice immediately after the first treatment how utterly clean your skin feels. The absence of dirt, oil, and dead skin cells allows light to reflect, giving your skin a younger appearance. Increased circulation provides a radiant glow without makeup. Your skin also holds more moisture, so it feels softer and plumper. For rosacea sufferers, the galvanic current constricts blood vessels and soothes inflammation, thereby reducing redness. For those with acne, it helps unclog pores so that sebum (excess oil) can easily be removed.
Further treatments diminish fine lines, even skin tone, and provide a clearer complexion.
Typically, Jody, owner and founder of Dermaspace recommends beginning your program with bimonthly or monthly treatments for healthier, more radiant skin.
For troubled skin that needs a bit more attention he recommends one treatment a week for the first four weeks to get your skin to a proper starting point. Maintenance treatments will be further discussed during your first visit after your skin is properly analyzed.

***Please note that even having this type of treatment a few times a year is still beneficial but if you are having ongoing issues then booking on a regular basis is key. Everyone is different and we cannot guarantee results after just one facial but most people see some level of improvement.

I HAVE ACNE…WILL THIS HELP?
We have had great success treating clients with Grades 1-3 acne. Of course everyone is different and it’s going to take a commitment on your part but the Iderm Treatment was designed to treat aging and problem skin such as acne, rosacea and inflammation which is also a leading cause of premature aging. WHAT IS GALVANIC CURRENT?
For decades, galvanic current has been applied medically to assist in healing of bone, muscle, ligament and various tissues. Most noted in the early history of electric medical experimentation is Luigi Galvani, who in 1791 was the first person to use electric current. The “Galvanic Current,” often used today in cosmetology to drive skin treatments deeper into the skin, is named after him.
Fun Fact: The crater Galvani on the Moon is named after him.
IS THE IDERM® TREATMENT SAFE?
The Iderm® treatment process uses a very low intensity current, a milliamper (1/1000th of an ampere) which is both safe and effective for application to the skin.
WHAT IS YOUR POINTS PROGRAM?
For most services you will receive 50 points per visit. Once you reach 600 points you can redeem those points toward a service.

DO YOU ACCEPT HEALTH INSURANCE?
Since we are an aesthetics clinic we do not take medical insurance.
I HAVE BOTOX AND DERMAL FILLER, CAN I STILL GET THE TREATMENT?
Yes, but you need to wait a minimum of 1 week after getting Botox and 2 weeks after getting Dermal Filler (3 weeks if you get it on your chin)!
IS THE TREATMENT RIGHT FOR YOU?
Conditions that might preclude you from having the Iderm® Treatment are:
Accutane (Isotretinoin): If you are currently taking Accutane for acne we will be unable to work on you until you have been off the medication for 3 months.
Pregnancy (Please let us know if you are expecting. We perform a gentle version of the facial on expectant mothers that does not include the electrical component).
NO Pacemakers, mechanical devices/implants
Overly sensitive skin or reactions to new products and/or procedures
Serious Bruising, swelling, acute inflammation
Currently being treated for Cancer (unless your doctor has given you the okay)
Epilepsy (if not on medication)
Tumors or unrecognized lumps (you should consult with your doctor if you haven't already)
Neuritis/neuralgia
Hemophilia (this isn't usually an issue but please let us know)
Large metal plates or pins in or around head and face (generally this isn't an issue but do let us know)
